Frequently Asked Questions

What do we need to bring when coming to pick?

We try to provide everything you need including buckets to pick into, boxes to take your berries home in, bathroom, water jug, hand washing station. This is an outdoor activity so consider sun protection and some prefer insect deterrent but we haven’t found it necessary. We have a few picnic tables for those in your group that just want to sit but you may want to bring your own chair. Close toed shoes are a good choice.

Do you have a farming philosophy?

We view food as medicine and strive to make our berries as nutrient rich as possible through the use of organic fertilizers that contain macro, secondary, and micro-nutrients. This not only makes for a healthier and more flavorful berry but a plant that is more resistant to insects and disease.

Do you sell anything else besides blue and blackberries?

We have about a dozen beehives we use for pollination and sell some of the honey from these hives. We also pot up blueberry plants and have those for sell. There is merchandise in the form of t-shirts and hats available for purchase as well.

How much does it cost to come pick?

We charge $25 per gallon for berries that you pick yourself. We offer both bulk and punch card discounts. It is $32 per gallon for pre-picked berries when available. There is no entry or parking fee.

Can you freeze berries, and how?

Berries last more than a week in the refrigerator as long as they are cooled soon after picking. Any remaining berries can be frozen and enjoyed year round. We usually just place the take home box of berries in the deep freeze then transfer berries to a freezer bag once frozen.
